Who are we
Studio Ubertazzi is a boutique law firm with an established family tradition that boasts an international profile and a high degree of specialization in the fields of corporate law, M&A, tax law, international, EU, bankruptcy, corporate restructuring, compliance and cyber security, intellectual property, unfair competition, banking, advertising, art, and cultural heritage.

What do we do
We assist medium and large companies in all legal matters, both nationally and internationally.
Working with large corporate groups, we have gained extensive experience as a general counsel, in particular, offering assistance in the fields of commercial, corporate and M&A, banking, tax, bankruptcy, restructuring, and crisis management. Furthermore, we deal with all issues and aspects related to the protection of intellectual property, competition, advertising, privacy, cyber security, and the management and protection of cultural heritage. We also address strategic issues related to other areas of law, such as the implications of succession management and intergenerational transitions. We have gained extensive knowledge of international and European law allowing us to assist companies in producing excellent results.
How we support our clients
- We identify specific solutions for all legal issues related to business, commercial, and corporate management of companies by offering them day-to-day consultancy as well as consultancy for extraordinary activities.
- We provide assistance in bankruptcy and restructuring procedures. We are considered one of the best Italian law firms in the field of bankruptcy law and corporate restructuring (Legal 500) with particular regard to recovery plans, agreements, and debt restructuring. Furthermore, we have supported one of the largest groups in Italy in the administration procedure.
- We have assisted our partners in countless litigation in disputes regarding intellectual property rights, unfair competition, company law, contract law, civil liability (especially in the area of liability of the company and medical directors and statutory auditors), and in various disputes concerning tax inversion issues, VAT payments and transfer pricing.

Our Story:
The story of Studio Ubertazzi is one of success and is now in its third generation of business. However, the firm has roots in generations of familial tradition which, thanks to the contribution of other family members (Stefano Ubertazzi, Francesco Monti, Bonifacio Monti, Gianfranco Cattaneo) has always been dedicated to the study of law and its interconnections with the economy.
The first generation:
Founded in 1947 by † Giovanni Maria Ubertazzi, the firm immediately presented itself as a concrete response to the needs created by the economic situation affecting the country after the Second World War.
Milan was preparing to become the center of Italian cultural and economic life again and required the presence of individuals capable of supporting companies on their path towards economic prosperity.
It is thanks to the vision of Giovanni Maria Ubertazzi that the foundations were laid to develop a legal approach calibrated to the needs of the industrial reality and which, thanks to the contribution of subsequent generations, will continue to bear fruit, ensuring the continuous demand for these services.
The Second Generation:
With † Luigi Carlo Ubertazzi, the firm faced a historical period characterized by the intense transformation of the economic and social fabric. After the conflicts of the 1970s, we witnessed the spread of new consumption and lifestyles.
The affirmation of a new way of conceiving communication in the field of advertising and technological evolution made more effective legal protection necessary and, was accompanied by an increasingly strategic vision of companies, which were increasingly projected towards the international scene.
The Third Generation:
The challenges of the third generation (Benedetta Ubertazzi, Tommaso Maria Ubertazzi) are those related to the complexity of a now globalized world that is characterized by intense and sometimes exaggerated competitiveness between production realities.
It is a historical period in which we are witnessing the birth of new legal situations and new needs, such as those related to ecological transformations and digitization.
In this context, there is a need to regulate and properly manage assets such as cultural heritage and landscape, which are now fully considered indispensable components of the tourism industry, which is a fundamental and driving sector of the economy.

The Library
Inside Studio Ubertazzi Studio there is a library that, as of February 8, 2022, has more than 8400 volumes and many trade magazines and databases.
